This stunning Pontiac Firebird 350 has MOT and UK registration.
Roman Garages is proud to offer this stunning 1969 Pontiac Firebird 350 V8 Auto. It has just passed its UK MOT and is sold with full UK registration and ‘G’ age related plates. It is an older restoration but still remains in very nice all round condition.
The Pontiac Firebird was designed as a so-called pony car, intended to compete with the highly successful Ford Mustang which had been launched over two years earlier. The first generation Firebird was built from 1967 to 1969, and shared similar styling and platforms with the Chevrolet Camaro. In the years of first generation production, the cars had as many as 12 different engine option, from a 3.8 litre 6 cylinder developing 165 bhp through to a 6.6 litre V8 with 345 bhp.
ENGINE AND GEARBOX
The variant we have on sale is the Pontiac Firebird with the 350 cu in engine (5.7 litre) developing 265 bhp, and fed by a 4-barrel Weber carb. This superbly tractable and smooth engine is mated to a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic auto transmission. The car has ample power, and a superlative exhaust note from its dual pipe system. The big V8 pulls smoothly and very strongly, whilst the autobox moves up and down its gears exactly as it should. Underbonnet is some detailing with chrome parts fitted, including the alternator.
Inside the car, the seats, headlining, door cards and carpets are in very good condition. The mainly black interior trim is offset by a wood effect centre console and additional auxiliary gauges. The Pontiac is a full 4 seater car.
Our car is finished in dark metallic blue, with Weld Racing alloy wheels, and Bridgestone Potenza tyres all round. It drives beautifully and is a real eye-catcher. The are are twin bonnet scoops to help the engine breathe. It benefits greatly from having power steering and vented front brakes.
This Pontiac came to us from Canada, having been selected by our North American team. We understand that this beautiful Firebird underwent a full restoration a few years ago where no expense was spared. Although there is no paperwork to confirm everything that has been done, it is clear that a great deal of money has been spent on bringing it to this condition.
Its not often that an opportunity to own one of these muscle cars comes along. It epitomises the American cars of the 60s, and gives a fine driving experience. It is all too easy to light up the rear tyres, but the car equally will be at home in slow traffic. It is supplied with a 3 month warranty, and we highly recommend a viewing. At £23995 it represents super value and won’t be here very long. We have the car in our Grantham showroom, and our number is 01476 563001. Hope to see you soon.
