E-type FHC S2 1970. Selling on behalf of a customer. Excellent Opportunity.

This is not for the faint hearted! It is a total restoration project that we have been asked to sell by a customer.

The car is a 1970 Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) Series 2 E-type that was stripped out in view of being restored some years ago, in Arizona US. Some work to the frame and scuttle was carried out and appears to have been shotblasted and painted to protect it. Some new panels were procured, but then the restoration lapsed.

Although the car looks very poor at first glance, a lot of the vehicle is covered in a surface rust where the paintwork was sunbaked, and which hasnt penetrated deeply like it would in the UK. There is some rust perforation on the neraside front of the bonnet. The car looks to be basically complete. The 4.2litre 6-cylinder engine is out of the car, and all the stripped components are with the vehicle. The photographs show some of the larger components laid out. There is all glass except for the windscreen. The car is fitted with the original Jaguar steel wheels which are ultra rare now.

Its the perfect opportunity for a dedicated enthusiast to build a nice car. Aternatively we do have menu pricing, which are really estimates where we will take on the rebuild for the purchaser. A basic restoration saving as many components as possible, and sorting used ones starts at around £40,000 through to a full nut and bolt, new component rebuild at approx £100,000. This would give the buyer a show car. Have a chat with us about it. You might be surprised at how easy we can make it for you.
