We understand the seriousness and need to keep classics on the road today while maintaining originality. Roman Garage has offered classic car restorations you can trust since 1969.
We have several stages that every restoration goes through and it is this process that has allowed us to consistently deliver great cars that we can be proud of.
INSPECTION. Detailed assessment and close examination of vehicle condition. Any non-original or missing parts noted and the identification numbers checked.
DISMANTLING. Every major assembly component carefully stripped, with individual parts documented and photographed. Sub-assembly parts grouped or bagged ready for refurbishment or replacement.
MEDIA CLEANING. Careful media blasting to return vehicle to bare metal. Followed by inspection of the structural condition ahead of rectification. All sections primed to protect against corrosion.
BODYSHELL RECTIFICATION. Any corroded metal removed. New OEM panels used in replacement.
COMPONENT REFURBISHMENT. All parts assessed for condition before refurbishment or replacement.
PAINT. Body cleaned back to bare metal and the surfaces keyed for each priming. Exterior surfaces primer coated. Guide coat applied and block sanded back. Cabin, trunk, underbody areas seam sealed as per the original vehicle. Underbody stone chip protection is applied under the body colour. Final paint coat applied to the complete shell and low bake cured before being reassembled and polished.
FINAL REASSEMBLY. Protective covers fitted over the body with trim parts covered. Safety critical fixings replaced. Fluids filled, suspension and lamps aligned and final torque checks finish the reassembly.
SIGN OFF & VALIDATION. Set up of fueling systems and ignition timing, followed by electrical testing. Stone chip protection applied before mileage testing at company proving ground. Following shakedown vehicle re-inspected and the engine oil and filters changed in preparation for handover. Certificate supplied on handover.
